BAFANL London Hornets 2018 Season

The London Hornets are a British American Football club based in Camden, London and currently play in the BAFA SFC 1 South.  Home matches are played at Mill Hill Rugby Club, 75 Page St, London NW7 2EE. I have been lucky enough to support and photograph these guys for the last 4 seasons,  where they have won their division title with an impressive 10-0 close-out and maintained Div 1 status for the past two years.

Fixtures for the 2018 season are here  http://dblcoverage.com/adult/bafa-nl-adult-fixtures

Technical bits: Shooting American football is 90% following the game, 10% pressing the shutter. Plays are designed to mislead the opposition who stand yards away. From the touchline it’s no clearer. A long fast lens isolates the action well, and a short zoom can be great to get in close where the play is near. With the team’s permission I have been shooting low from the touchline which is my preferred approach whilst following the play. End zones when the play gets close offer a different angle though you need be wary as the offence are often masked by the defence.
